Amy Hoffman Recognized as
2018 Robert Felter Memorial Award Winner

Amy Hoffman has received the 2018 Robert Felter Memorial Award. Ms. Hoffman is an in-center hemodialysis patient at Fresenius Kidney Care – East Peoria. She was recognized for her outreach to her fellow patients, helping them with their adjustment to dialysis treatment. In her application, Ms. Hoffman noted:

“A good attitude about kidney failure is not a one and done action. It is a choice that is made on a daily basis.”

She was nominated by Amber Randall, RN, the clinical manager at the unit. “I could never thank her enough for all the patient-to-patient help she has provided to the clinic,” said Ms. Randall. “It is a wonderful asset to have someone that can be positive when they are chronically ill, as well be able to try and help others and be a peer mentor to them.”

The Robert Felter Memorial Award is given annually to a patient who has demonstrated outstanding efforts in patient advocacy to help others. The award nominations will be open again next spring, now is the time to be thinking of deserving patients you can nominate!
