Marie Philipneri, MD, PhD
Dr. Marie Philipneri is a Professor of Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She joined the Division of Nephrology at Saint Louis University (SLU) in 2000. After earning a medical degree from University of Guyana (1994), she completed residency in internal medicine at University of Missouri Kansas City and fellowship in nephrology at Saint Louis University. She also obtained Master of Public Health (MPH) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Health Management and Policy from Saint Louis University.

Dr. Philipneri is Board Certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine, and Specialist in Clinical Hypertension. Her leadership roles include Medical Director of Outpatient Dialysis at SLU since 2006 and Continuing Medical Education Accrediting Director. Dr. Philipneri is an active member on SLU’s Biomedical Institutional Review Board (IRB). She is the current vice-chair on the Missouri Kidney Program Advisory Council and collaborates with National Kidney Foundation. She is also a member of the Nephrologists Transforming Dialysis Safety (NTDS) Project committee, which is a national partnership between the American Society of Nephrology and CDC.

Dr. Philipneri treats patients with a broad range of kidney disorders and hypertension. She provides evaluation and management of acute and chronic kidney disorders and resistant hypertension. She has participated in several clinical trials. Her research interests include chronic kidney disease, hypertension, dialysis, and health outcomes.
